My name is Katlego, I’m a Photographer, Visual artist and Designer Based in Johannesburg.
I have always believed as an artist my goal is to be a cartographer for the human psyche. My work deals with mapping out the vast spectrum of emotions and social paradigms that we experience. The garden originally was formed in my exploration of what it means to be human. It is a safe space within oneself where you could confront the things you have experienced, and tend to them as you need. Often I use the garden to safely explore a wide range of abstract topics, and find a means to communicate them visually.
Currently I am enrolled in The Market Photo Workshop to expand my knowledge and further my education within the Visual Arts. The courses that best allow me to hone my abilities are Visual Narrative, Technical Practice and Post Production. I am also a part of The ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme with mentorship from Zanele Mashumi.
With over 7 years of experience in multimedia design, I am a highly creative and detail-oriented professional. I have developed a strong understanding of how to communicate brand consistency and identity through integrated marketing channels and mediums. I am proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, I constantly explore and learn new technologies, ensuring that my designs stay fresh and cutting-edge. My skills include conceptualization, branding, graphic design, web design, video production, and more.
Although I am a young professional in the industry, I have always had a knack for all things digital and visual. I began my artistic education at the age of 14 in 2013 at The National School of the Arts. In my senior years, I specialised in 2D Design which sparked my interest in digital art and photography and most of the work that I do now. My work and achievements have been recognised from as soon as I began working in videography. The first time operating a camera and editing was for the iSchools PSA Press Team. I fell inlove instantly. During that time I won multiple national competitions. In 2017(Grade 12) I won two awards at the 48 Hour Film Competition. The first award was an Audience Choice Award, And the second was an Honorary Award in the Best Student Film category which earned me a Multi Camera Editing Course at Footprint Media Academy.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clients, each with their unique needs and vision. Through my expertise, I have delivered exceptional results, from creating stunning logos and visual identities, to developing immersive multimedia experiences that have left a lasting impression on audiences. My designs have helped my clients ignite brand recognition, foster loyalty, and achieve their business goals.
